Going Green With The Garden Star

Say hello to the fourth and final cocktail from our series of Farmer's Market Cocktails: The Garden Star! Is it just us, or do gin and summer seem to go hand-in-hand? The spirit has a refreshing taste that’s perfect for slowly sipping on a hot day. So in honor of one of the season’s best flavor combinations, we paired our own homemade gin with fresh cucumber to create a cooling cocktail that helps us to escape from the steaminess of summer.

Aromatic mint gets muddled with lime juice, cane sugar and cucumber before gin gets thrown into the mix. After a quick shake, you’ve got the best antidote to those sweltering summer sunrays.

The Garden Star
makes two drinks

  • 3 shots homemade gin*
  • 2 shots lime juice
  • 4 cubes cane sugar
  • 6 slices of cucumber (plus 2 for garnish)
  • 2 sprigs mint
  1. Add the lime juice, cane sugar, cucumber and mint to the Mason Shaker.
  2. Muddle the ingredients in the bottom of the Shaker until crushed.
  3. Add the gin to the Shaker. Add ice to above the liquid, and shake vigorously for 20 seconds.
  4. Strain the cocktail into two coupe glasses, and garnish with remaining cucumber slices.
