The Cucumber G&T featuring the Boylan Heritage Tonic

A quick glance at the ingredient list for most tonic waters reveals an abundance of fake sugar and chemical additives. A lot of pride goes into crafting a delicious cocktail, and a sugary tonic can completely ruin what could have been a great drink.

Insert the Boylan Heritage Tonic, a new cocktail mixer from Boylan Bottling Company and W&P Design. This tonic combines seltzer, cane sugar, quinine and all-natural citrus and botanicals to create a bold yet balanced cocktail mixer that pairs perfectly with just about any spirit. This week, we paired the Boylan Heritage Tonic with some homemade gin, cucumber and lime for this refreshing take on a the classic G&T.

The Cucumber G&T
makes two drinks

  • 3 shots homemade gin*
  • 6 slices cucumber (plus 2 for garnish)
  • 2 slices lime (for garnish)
  • Boylan Heritage Tonic
  1. Add the cucumber to the Mason Shaker.
  2. Muddle the cucumber in the bottom of the Shaker until crushed.
  3. Add the gin to the Shaker. Add ice to above the liquid, and shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
  4. Strain the mixture into two collins glasses, fill with Boylan Heritage Tonic, and garnish with remaining cucumber and lime slices.
