Dirty Martini

March 03, 2016

The Martini is the pinnacle of classic cocktails, but let's admit it, it's a drink that has been abused over recent years with the addition of artificially flavored spirits and sweeteners that can ruin the beautiful simplicity of the classic (we're looking at you Apple Martini).

Getting back to the basics, the classic Martini is composed of gin and vermouth and can be served in a variety of ways. Our favorite? The Dirty Martini. Spiked with olive juice and garnished with an olive, The Dirty Martini has a brininess to it that pairs perfectly with dry gin and is a great way to whet your appetite ahead of a good meal.

With so few ingredients in the cocktail, the type of gin you use matters more than ever. Try to use a good, craft gin, preferably distilled locally! Our go-to pick? Greenhook Gin, distilled in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Cheers!
