Botanical Blend Gin Whiskey Cocktail

Chances are, your family has strong opinions about Thanksgiving—including what they want to drink. Gin and whiskey drinkers are two separate camps, and the spirits themselves are rarely found together in cocktails. But thanks to Hacking Whiskey author Aaron Goldfarb, you can now make both teams happy (or mutually miserable) with a unique blend of the two spirits that magically transforms into a tasty highball.

Botanical Blend

55% Sazerac Rye
35% George Dickel Rye Whisky
10% Bluecoat Barrel Finished Gin
85% Lagavulin 16-Year-Old
15% Lysholm Linie Aquavit

Botanical Blend and Tonic (BB&T)

2 oz Botanical Blend
Fever-tree Elderflower tonic water
Flamed orange peel, for garnish

Pour the Botanical Blend into a Collins glass filled with ice cubes. Top with tonic to taste. Flame an orange peel to garnish the cocktail.
