The Southern Shandy

October 08, 2015

Watching some sports this summer? Us too. We cheer louder after a few drinks, so we came up with a daytime-appropriate cocktail to get the team spirit flowing. Because we love Bourbon, we crafted this variation on the beer-based shandy with a shot of the hard stuff, a few cubes of cane sugar and some freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Go team, go!

The Southern Shandy
Makes One Cocktail

  • 1 shot bourbon
  • 1 shot fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cubes cane sugar
  • 1 can American lager (We love Narragansett Lager)
  • 1 lemon round
  1. Add the bourbon, lemon juice and cane sugar cubes to The Mason Shaker.
  2. Muddle the ingredients in the bottom of the shaker until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  3. Add ice and shake for 5 seconds.
  4. Strain into a tall glass containing ice and top with beer to fill. Garnish with lemon round.
