Tulsi Hot Toddy

If you've been seeking the perfect way to unwind after a stressful day, look no further than this Tulsi Hot Toddy, developed by Beauty Water author Tori Holmes. Tulsi—also known as holy basil—is an Ayurvedic herb used to support a balanced mind, good digestion and lowered anxiety levels. Note: Drink this 2-3 times a week to get the full benefits. 

Tulsi Hot Toddy

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon dried tulsi
  • 1/4 teaspoon ashwagandha bark (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons raw honey
  • 1 lemon slide, for garnish
  • 5 whole cloves, for garnish

SPECIAL TOOLS

  • Tea ball infuser
  • Teapot

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Fill a tea ball infuser with the tulsi and ashwagandha (if using). Place the infuser into a teapot.
  3. Pour the boiling water into the teapot and let steep, covered, for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove the infuser and mix in the lemon juice and honey.
  5. Serve in a cup with a floating lemon slice pierced with cloves.
  6. Sip this drink hot.
